Obama handlers have some explaining to do. They should have scripted his opening remarks for his first appearance following America’s deadliest attack on its largest military base.
Without script or teleprompter, our Commander-in-Chief did what he’s programmed to do–give thanks and ’shout outs’ to supporters. It took two minutes for him to shift out of campaign mode and address the disaster.
His first appearance came four hours after the Ft. Hood attack and hours after most of America had prayed for the victims, their families, and even the attacker(s). Obama’s candor sent a chill down the spines of all Americans and their allies.
America’s enemies on the other hand, were impressed with his stoic display. Cool, distant, almost oblivious to the depth of the days events. This pivotal moment in Obama’s performance will not be forgotten by Americans, or his management team.
His handlers will need to program their candidate with data ‘more appropriate’ to future occasions to produce a response that will serve their ends.
America will not forget. Even though coverage of the candidates error will be marginalized, enough people were tuning in to hear from their leader. Enough people will also be able to decipher Obama’s values as this event is reconciled to his previous behavior.
Expect ‘adjustments’ in his middle management to be executed when they deem the appropriate time.
